Our public service announcement said that the Chinook would land on Parliament Hill last night at 7:30 pm. Look at the Peace Tower clock - right on time! Image credit: LCol (Ret'd) Jamie Robertson (Thanks to Bob Kidman for pointing that out) Taken From Facebook: www.facebook.com/rcaf1924?fref=photo

Here is a video that Sgt.SearingSun sent me with the CH-147F preparing to leave Parliament Hill after the Day of Honor Ceremony. If you are wondering why it takes so long for the aircraft to eventually take off, all Helicopters are required to wait about 5min with the engine and rotors going in order to get fluids and the engine warming to standard operating temperatures. If they were to take off right away the engines could take serious damage. But helicopters only need to do that if it is a cold start on the engine!
